How to Turn 1000 Gold into 2000 Gold

Marcko over at Flywowgold.com is holding his monthly blogging carnival again! This month, the question all us WoW gold bloggers have been asked to answer is “How to turn 1000 gold into 2000 gold”.

Well hmm, let me see…

My favorite way to make that amount of gold pretty fast is to find cheap items to disenchant on the Auction House and then turn around and list the mats I get or use them to make scrolls and list those. In my experience, just re-listing the mats will get you 1000 gold faster than making scrolls though.

A lot of players will sell the items they loot while questing and doing instances at extremely low prices. Green items don’t sell that well, so its not hard to find great bargains. (This is also a great, cheap way to get mats to power-level your enchanting skill.). You will probably find that level 80 mats do not sell as well as mats for enchants at other levels, even though there is more demand for enchants at 80. The auto-disenchant button for instances has really flooded the market there. You can still make gold on these, but you will make more on lower level mats. The best customers are lower level characters looking for cheap enchants or 80s looking to power-level enchanting by buying all the mats they need from the AH.

Auctioneer Disenchant Searcher
I use Searchers in Auctioneer to automate this. You can find it on the Search tab under Searchers -> Disenchant. You can use this method even if your enchanting skill isn’t maxed. just make sure that you set the Custom Levels setting in the searcher so only items that you have the skill to disenchant are found. To wow gold make this faster and filter out all the crap deals, set your minimum discount to 50%. If you get a lot of hits at 50%, push it even higher. Also set a minimum price starting out at around 3-5 gold and keep pushing it higher for as long as you are getting good results.

It might be tempting to only search for items that make a profit if you buy them immediately at the ‘Buy Out’ price. But a lot of the best deals come from bidding and being a little patient. A lot of sellers list items for at or above market value on their ‘Buy Out’ price, but a really cheap minimum bid. When you are buying green items, chances are that you will win the bid on a reasonable percentage of items and your profits will be better.
